Cute, but this really is going after the lower-end kid set (nothing wrong with that of course).

Looks like a cross between the Amblimation and Hyperion films of the early 90s, and Universal's usual DTV product.

Biggest trailer mistakes: pushing Ron (I had nothing to do with this apart from being a partner in Imagine) Howard's name smacks of desperation, the mention of "magical new songs by Jack Johnson" doesn't elicit any excitement (I actually think they'd have been better off not mentioning the songs at all at this point, as lacklustre as they sound), and the run down of the cast doesn't amount to more than interest for Ferrell and Barrymore, with the rest not registering on any of today's audiences (of course, there's Van Dyke for us fans).

Lastly, the "this is awesome" final shot is the most rubbish, flat, bland shot in the whole trailer, with some very awkward rotation animation, and the screenplay credit at the end lasts a long, long time, with no where mentioning that this comes from a best-selling series of beloved children's books now in their 60th year!!

Much lousy "big" name yelling, but no brand recognition! Wassaup??

Big, 2D Studio animation IS doomed... :(

Anyone know the budget for this movie?

I love Will Ferrell, though. Maybe he'll be able to pull in some teenagers.

What about Genndy Tartakovsky? Is he gonna be making 2-D or CGI films?

Guy who created Dexters' Lab and a couple other shows, I think. There was an article on him on the front page.

Oh, right, he's the man behind "Star Wars: Clone Wars". He did a great job on those.

I saw part of the TV series for this while at MIPCOM last week.

The animation for the TV show looks the same as the feature, but that's not saying much. Universal have already sunk a LOT into the Curious George franchise, so they need a hit.

Does anyone know if the voices from the film are doing it? Or what?

Probably not. I can't see Will Ferrel doing a little kid's TV show.

Sounded like Ferrell, but that might have been for the pilot/promo or for the premiere episode.

Universal were pushing a 26-part, 22-minute series.

The show's for PBS, correct? I seem to remember reading something about that.

I can't wait to see Ferrell in the film version of The Producers! (He plays the crazy ex-Nazi.)
You can’t just have your characters announce how they feel! That makes me feel angry!
