Dinosours/Family Guy similarities

Post by ShyViolet »

Does anyone remember that show from the early '90's?

Dinosours--Jim Henson's creations, like Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

I think it was a Disney show. (and on ABC, but before Disney bought ABC.)

I was just thinking, that show is like, REALLY similar to Family Guy in some ways. Small, obnoxious baby, teenage boy, teenage girl, Fred Flinstone dad, sassy mom.

You wanna talk rip off let's compare BOB! and Caroline in the City.

Both made by CBS
Both about comic book artists
Both used the SAME scripts!

Yeah, yeah, I remember that show! Dinosaurs was very funny actually. I see the similarities, somewhat. But it was still very different from Family Guy. Father wasn't really obnoxious or rude like Peter Griffin. And the baby is nothing like the maniacal Stewie. I think the show had more in common with the Flinstones than Family Guy.
Do. Or do not. There is no try.

Agreed!! The characters, the satire, the wacky plots.... all terrific. It's surprising that there has not been more discussion clamoring for a DVD release. I'm glad I have all the tapes Disney put out.

I concur as well! I've been planning on getting the Dinosaurs series DVD for awhile. I should get it soon.

Thanks for the link, Vi! I nearly forgot about the final box set coming out this Tuesday. (still have to get the first one, grr!)

I vaguely remember this show, but from what I do recall, I loved it!

And yes, that Disney spoof episode sounds like a riot! :D

No prob Dan!! :)

My favorite part:

"Yes, we're still building the dream. For as long as dinosaurs have imagination and children have discretionary income, Wesaysoland will never be truly finished. Welcome to Wesaysoland. Where everyone has a good time because We Say So. "

It so reminds me of "Duloc" in Shrek:
"Don't make waves,
stay in line,
And we'll get
along fine--
Duloc is a perfect town,
Please keep off, off the grass--
shine your shoes, wipe your--
face,
Duloc is, Duloc is, Duloc is a per-fect place!!!

:P

I liked that part to! Espicially the last line; "where everyone has a good time because we say so"
