A lot of people seem to blame Apple for this, but the truth is whoever is in charge of Peanuts didn't make this deal just because they really like their iPhone. Any of the networks or their parent companies could have ponied up the money for the rights to keep this on network tv. They obviously didn't. So point the fingers in their direction if you don't like this on Apple TV+!

This part of a much bigger Apple-Peanuts deal, though. They didn’t just buy up the rights to this and other specials, but the whole Peanuts distribution deal, which would be out of the reach of a network, I would guess, who would probably only exactly want those two/three/four core specials to show each year. Apple wanted the whole library for streaming, and Peanuts did the deal to give it to them. Outside of a home video company (like how Warners used to have the license) or maybe someone like Comcast's Universal/DreamWorksc(to add them to their Classic Media/DreamWorks Classics library) or another independent streamer, I don’t know who else would have been able, or wanted, to do as big a deal as that.

Here's my annual look at our Charlie Brown Christmas display. I'm in the centre of the yard in the second photo, setting it up.

We're late getting snow this year, so it was weird setting it up on the grass. But with colder (and snowier) weather coming this week, it seemed like a good idea to get it done while it was relatively warm. I'll just have to adjust things once the snow does come.

Yeah. The wife gets excited about Christmas decorating. And she's not the only one. A number of the neighbors' yards are already lit up, too (the whole block carries the Charlie Brown theme). Once we are past Remembrance Day on Nov. 11 here, it's fair game.

Both next door houses have christmas displays up already. The radio station is already playing 24 hour christmas music here!

Well I can’t wait to do ours, but we at least wait until first week in December! Here in somewhat reserved and reverential Britain, it’s a bit frowned upon to start too early…even the Crimbo ads have seemingly started a little later this year after getting many complaints for starting in October the last few times (though the earliest I ever saw was one June!).

:o

Nah, all in good fun. We do it for the happiness it brings others. Our block is on the city Christmas lights tour. Sometimes, vehicles unload at our house, and kids run around to get close to the characters. No competition, just good times. :)

(OTOH, my wife did get more lights this year to out-shine the guy across the street...!!!)

I do too! :D
You can’t just have your characters announce how they feel! That makes me feel angry!
