Today marks the family's 35th anniversary in existence, as they made their debut on "The Tracey Ullman Show" on this date. They haven't changed a bit, have they? ;)
Yeah, remember when Bart & Lisa, as the main characters, were just any "normal" 10-yo's, Homer was named "Dad", worked at no identifiable location, and was no more frustratingly dumb than anyone else's frustratingly-clueless dad growing up?

But that was Then. Now Matt has a hit series, and world-beloved marketing empire, that he can change the world with.

Yes, before some of the roles were taken away because of the whole race situation. My hope is that whenever we do get a sequel, that's just ignored and characters get their original voice back. I miss Apu and don't like any of the new voices. It's so distracting and disheartening. :(

Yes, I hope so too. The whole thing is absolutely ridiculous.

Interesting how Apu never actually got a new voice actor when he’s the character who “started” the supposed need to replace a bunch of them.

Yeah. A year ago it was reported they still have plans for Apu so it's probably just a matter of time. That will be bittersweet.

Poster for the upcoming short:

Sticking together is what good waffles do!

Unfortunately, Pat Carroll did not reprise her role. That would've made it more special!

Awe, shame. That would have been such a cool last credit for her.

I couldn’t immediately see the link so have left the post for now, but folks should be aware there may be a third party link from Vi's post above that is for adults only.

Homer is totally a bald JK Simmons. Or, er, JK Simmpsons?

Just popping in here to say that the new Simpsons short is terrible. And that poster is very misleading.

As soon as it was getting good it wrapped up. Forgettable, and the credits show what more could've been done.

I think the worst part was having Kevin Michael Richardson voice Captain Hook. I mean, seriously? I guess the non-white/color policy doesn't apply here...

The fact that the Simpsons and L.A. Law ran concurrently really drives home how long Simpsons has been on the air.

Definitely! Almost mind-boggling.

(Also kinda reminds me of their “cameo” in a 1991 ep of The Real Ghostbusters.)

What Simpsons jokes did you think were “real”? (Ex: “If you’ve ever handled a penny, the government’s got your DNA.” True??)*

:)

*At the time I thought: maybe it is true. Lol.
