OMG that’s awesome!!! :o Hugh Grant would be an amazing Doctor! Dry humor/charm combo has been known to work before, as we know, through all different iterations of the Doc.

Kinda random…this is a trailer for a really fun, sweet movie he made a few years ago called “The Rewrite.” :)

Some of it was actually filmed in the town I live in now (Binghamton NY) as well as the university here. (My grad school alma mater.)

Oh my God. INCREDIBLE 11-part fan documentary (that feels completely professional and totally legit) on the history of the show.

I haven’t seen the whole thing yet, but whether you’re a new fan or a long-time Whovian, this is a simply amazing collection of facts, trivia, as well some interesting opinions on the series. (Both Classic AND Nu.)

Here’s part 1, the Hartnell era, although technically part 2 since the intro is actually part 1.

Oh, the Pertwee section is particularly well done, I thought.

Had no idea this even existed! :). Basically a drama/biopic of how DW got started in 1963 a la Saving Mr. Banks!

I saw this went it went out! One of the first of these kinds of docu-dramas, and nicely done.

I had just read a couple of books about the origins of the show, so it came out at a perfect time for me. It was well done.

It was done for the BBC 50th Anniversary marketing, but so good, you can even forgive the dated Matt Smith plug at the end.

On top of being very good, it was nice to see Jessica Raine again after "Call the Midwife".

So, just like we got the first female Doctor after "Why can't we have a female James Bond?", this would be the first black Doctor after "Why can't we have a black James Bond?"
