The movies had actual plots. Time to change the record

Yes, even opinions can be wrong!
Much as I love the Stitch series, it can't touch the movie. Same for Tarzan, Herc, and Big Hero 6. Maybe the problem is they're too sophisticated and the shows are shorter and watered-down? ;)
Oh, they're watered down, but at least they're focused as to what the point and environment concept are about:
- Tarzan got rid of 90's post-Scar sniffy-villain Clayton, in favor of a nasty jungle queen (now that's the Edgar Rice Burroughs we know)
- Herc put us entirely in the screwball modern-stone-age-Greece sitcom environment without the 90's-Renaissance "Poor picked-on outsider going the distance" schmaltz (although, yes, French Stewart was annoying),
- Big Hero 6 gave us comic superheroes without the shamelessly recycled "Never meet your hero" villain from Up along with Carl's "Learn to let go" lesson,
and, thank heavens,
- Lilo & Stitch:TS was actually ABOUT Lilo, Stitch and mischievous aliens, and not about whether Nani's job search and parental status would be ruined by psychotic lunatics.

And I still say "Atlantis II: Milo's Return" (the scrapped Disney Afternoon "Team Atlantis" pilot) actually made the supporting characters likable--yes, even Audrey, Doc and Moliere--by giving them something to do, and bringing in all the pretentious world-mythology plots left over from Gargoyles.

A lot of that has not been confirmed and is just collating previous information that is still in flux. Feige is producing a SW project, not directing it, for instance. There's even speculation that this and Waititi's film are one and the same. I wouldn’t put any stock in anything past the end of 2021 at this point. Next year is still going to be bumpy, for production at least if nothing else.

Looks like lots of new content is coming, which is what people wanted. Yet, some will complain that Disney is watering down their many product lines. Such is life... Disney didn't spend $4B each on Marvel and Lucasfilm just to ignore their potential, for better or worse.

My son is still totally gung-ho to watch anything with "Star Wars" in the title, but I don't think that I'm quite so keen. I never need to see anything more of the Bad Batch, that's for sure. I'm up for just about anything "Marvel," though, and I look forward to all those shows. It's not likely that I'll be spending much time on the new Disney or Pixar animated shows, but I don't begrudge Disney making new shows out of their characters.

A TV series was mooted for Freeform, but ultimately went nowhere.

No Small One in the UK. :(

However, Muppet Christmas Carol does still have When Love Is Gone as a deleted scene, so I’m still not sure why this was ever "lost" or couldn’t be reinserted into a digital HD version of the film. Of course they’d need the OCN to bring it up to 4K, but there’s no reason the "uncut" version couldn’t have been on Blu-ray or D+ all this time already, albeit "only" in HD.

That's been posted and doesn't shed light on the question. Here's an excerpt from an article last month:
EW wrote:The visual element is also to blame for the song’s continued absence. While the scene is available as a bonus feature on Disney+, there’s no hope of re-inserting that version into the film proper. “We tried cutting it into the movie, and it was like, ‘Whoa, somebody put a fog filter in front of the camera for this scene,’” Henson says. “No matter how hard we tried, it never looked good enough.”

As Henson explains, the scene’s original film negative is required to restore it, and Disney has been unable to locate the footage, much to the director’s consternation. “They always say, ‘It’ll show up. Negatives never permanently get lost, they just get put in the wrong place,’” he says. “For years and years, I’d call them every six months and see how they were doing. And they actually even put together a team and a little budget to try to find it, and they still couldn't. It’s very frustrating.”
Silly reasoning, but there you go. At least the story has a happy ending.

Nothing in that link about a cinema reissue...?

And all this still doesn’t explain how I saw it in UK cinemas — twice — in '92 with the song sequence intact. In fact, until the Blu-ray, I never knew the version of the film *without* the song, since it was in the cinema version I saw, and then the LaserDisc! :)
