And now all you "lucky" people can see Free Guy in the US… ;)

Gaastra…although Comcast (which owns Universal *and* NBC) still owns a minority block of Hulu, Disney's deal means it has full operational control and can basically do as it wants. Ccomcast relinquished control, with Disney also able to act on a buyout clause whenever they see fit and all agree on, which would also give it full ownership.

Comcast will still see full returns on any contracts and money generated, and would also probably prefer that any Hulu subs that are there for Universal content goes into Peacock (which is due a rebrand anyway, rumor is with the newly re-merged ViacomCBS — now all once again named Paramount), so I can totally still see this happening in a big streaming shake up down the line, and not that long away.

After all, those Netflix Marvel shows *were* exclusive to Netflix…weren’t they…? ;)

Not so much a section as a tweak to parental controls. Old news for us non-US subscribers.

Nice to see this getting sorted out.

I like the very last line a lot. :)
You can’t just have your characters announce how they feel! That makes me feel angry!

Yeah…but only a matter of time before the ad-supported version catches up to how much we're paying now for unsupported! ;)

How does that work, anyway? Is it like two or three forced ads before a selects title plays, or…shudder…do we get interrupts during a show? If so I’d still probably turn over to churning and just get the ad-free as and when, over sticking with a lower cost D+ with ads.

Disney CFO provides some info from a conference Q&A:
I want to ask you, because one of the frequent questions I've gotten since Friday, is about the linear Disney Channel historically, was ad-free, or essentially ad-free. How are you thinking about leveraging advertising, given the brand focus of the Disney+ service?

Yes, that's a great question. Disney Channel, we did not have ads on it. We had some interstitials and things, some promotional things, but it wasn't ads per se. We're going to be very careful about making sure the -- any advertising is consistent with the content; what people are watching. So, it's not going to be something that's going to be jarring an off topic or off brand. We'll also -- it'll be a lighter ad load and we're also going to make sure that everything complies with Child Protection policies and any kind of COPPA regulations, U.S. as well as international privacy laws. So, we're going to be very, very mindful of this. And it will be a different ad-supported platform than a lot of others out there just because the nature of the service we're providing is a family-oriented one.

My guess is like hulu. Some times a few ads showing up random in shows and other times full 4 to 5 min ads! I have the ads hulu by the way as we are paying for live channels. Won't get the ad version of plus.
