They were my least fave part of Clone Wars, so I passed on their show.
Same here. I only watched because my son wanted to. However, the idea actually works pretty well because of where they set it. It's basically the A-Team during the very first months of the formation of the Empire. Without hopefully spoiling anything, it's literally both a direct sequel to Clone Wars and a prequel to Rebels. If you like those shows this one is definitely worth watching.

My issue with the finale was most of the big stuff happened in the penultimate episode and this one didn't really add much more to it.

My son still watched it, and seemed to like (not love) it. With so many other things to watch, and my summers being spent mostly outside when I'm home, I had to draw the line for myself somewhere. But it will always be on D+ if I decide to check it out.

Wow…the UK got a whole bunch of nothing again! You know what I mean! ;)

I think after this year we may go to a churn model for D+. Last thing I watched was Luca, I think, and then got the disc anyway. And I’ve still to catch up on Falcon and Loki…! Might just start to nab it for a month or two a year and binge a couple of shows. We'll see…I have until next April to make the choice.

Spy is pretty fun and hilarious if you haven't seen it. Yes, it has Melissa McCarthy but it's one of the few films I find her decent in. Her character is a very competent spy just inexperienced, instead of the bumbling oaf one might expect. Highlight for me was Miranda Hart! Such fun! Huge fan. The entire cast is pretty good, too. Definitely entertaining with heart.

Can. Not. Stand. Miranda. Hart.

It’s funny, but like James Corden and Ricky Gervais, you guys haven’t been quite as exposed to them ad nauseam for so long as much as we natives. ;)

And I did see Spy, actually, because it looked fun. It was okay, I guess, but I don’t ever need to see it again. Sorry!

Underdog is fun! Dan In Real Life is touching. Cruella is bonkers fun! And the McCartney doc is fascinating and nostalgia filled, like a warm and cosy blanket. I’ve only seen the first two or three (of six) but it’s a lovely little series.

Hey, what happened to your groovy icons? :)

Can’t believe we don’t have a Mary Poppins thread (we mostly talked about the sequel in here, apparently!), but… (best gob full of cherries Cockernee accent)

'APPY BOIFDAY, MARWY POPPINS!!

Walt's masterpiece premiered this very night in 1964, going on to garner 13 Oscar noms — including Best Picture — and winning five, including Best Actress!

Here's THR's original review — cool to see how, even to brand new audiences, the film worked its magic from day one…

Is Disney+ worth the subscription? Is there anything good on there that's new or recent?

Depends what you're looking for but it's worth it for me and my family. While there is not the plethora of vintage material (i.e. Wonderful World of Disney) that some of us would like, they do have tons of Disney films and TV shows, most Marvel material ever made, all of Star Wars, and a fair bit of Muppet material, plus lots more from National Geographic and 20th Century Fox. Plus, newer shows from Marvel, Star Wars, and Muppets, plus other programs. Even for someone like me with a massive disc collection, there's plenty of value. I'd say get it for a month and see for yourself before committing to a year.

The great thing about streaming services, especially when compared to cable, is that there are no strings attached. For example, you can pay just $7.99 for one month of Disney+ to find out exactly what's on it. Not happy with the selection? Cancel and you're just out eight bucks. If you wanted to try out Disney Channel back in the day you'd have to subscribe to cable, sign a contract, and deal with a bunch of hardware installation. Then if you weren't happy with the programming, too bad! You're stuck with it for a year or two.
