Bomerang channel airing classic cartoons again!

Post by gaastra » December 6th, 2020, 10:24 pm

If you have the cable boomerang they have added yogi bear, huck hound, magrilla, smurfs, pup named scooby, scrappy, josie and the pussycats, jetsons, flintstones, top cat and wacky races to the network!

Also they are airing classic christmas specials like christmas comes to pac-land (when was the last time it aired on tv!), flintstone christmas, yogis first christmas, smurfs christmas, powerpuff girls christmas, etc!

I remember being soooo excited for Yogi's First Christmas back in '84 or '85, or whenever it aired...and then being sooooo bored by the end of what was a very overlong program. Great to see all the characters together, but even without commercials it ran to almost two hours, if I remember right.

Yogi's first christmas was not made as a film. It first aired as a 4 part mini series! That's why it feels so long. The next year they edited it into a film.

Yyyep. The channel that was supposed to have "gotten rid of" old H-B cartoons for Warner/CN is now necessary for their parent company's larger world-domination plots again...
Those who tuned in hoping for more "retro" Dexter's Lab reruns will just have to get used to it.

"Dexter's Laboratory" still airs on Boomerang and will continue for the foreseeable future. Your neurotic need of singling it out again was for nothing.

Gotcha. We got the one-off film version here, and it indeed was looooong.

Me too. Same for Yogi. Although it does drag, it's not Christmas without it. 🎄

Starting on Christmas Eve Boomerang will be airing a marathon of Christmas specials! Essentially all the ones that were brought up earlier. Yay!

I have about 40 specials on disc, but my kids don't want to watch them anymore. :(
