Yeah...that’s what I thought. Obv wasn’t going to be the movie. Eric'll be happy that there’s more Nat-Geo action on The Disney+ Channel, though! ;)

Aside from enjoying the new Mando again (yes!), I really loved the first episode of 616, showcasing the late 1970s Japanese Spider-Man show! Lots of great interviews, and even touching at times. What a surprise! Give it a watch!

We did Mando 3 tonight, where he again shows how cool he is by, er, crashing his ship. Again.

And then we did the Lego Holiday Special, which was just totally bizarre and not very funny at all. Even at 47 minutes, it was tediously tedious by a half hour in, and the comedy Emperor just seemed to be from a totally differently toned program. The best thing I could say about it was that I was totally convinced it was Daisy Ridley as Rey and, even though I knew it kind of couldn’t or wouldn’t be her, I was still kind of surprised that it wasn’t, so good was the character voice. But Rey's majority hogging story was played pretty straight, so the comedy and whole "Life Day" stuff felt shoehorned in and would have been better without it. Indeed, apart from those more minor touches, this wasn’t any kind of holiday special at all. Very strange...

Terrible Day is actually quite good clean fun. I liked it enough to get the Blu when Movie Rewards had it way back when, whatever you take from that.

We may check out the Beauty remake, though not a fan of the story overall and didn’t think the updating was really needed. That may, though, actually make it work better for me...we shall see...

Curious about Black Beauty, too. If nothing else to compare.

"Once Upon a Time in Wonderland" - about time! Hasn't been around in eons. Started to watch it, but lost interest. The leads just never did anything for me. Saw the finale though and thought it was good.

Recap of what was added Friday:

US:
Star Wars: The Mandalorian – Season 2 – Episode 5
The Wonderful World of Mickey Mouse – Episode 3 & 4
Marvel's Spider-man: Maximum Venom
Once Upon a Time in Wonderland
Party Animals
Alaska: Port Protection – Season 3
Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day
The Adventures of Yellow Dog: Far From Home
Black Beauty

UK:
Marvel's Agents of Shield Season 7 - Episode 4
The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader
Noelle

Canada:
Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Road Chip

Australia:
Hidden Figures

The UK finally gets Noelle. I'm a Christmas movie junkie, I've seen so many I'm practically an expert! Noelle is... rough. I like Anna Kendrick and thought she gave a good performance. Bill Hader was funny in his little screen time. Some cute and funny moments to be sure. Location was pretty blah, though. Special effects could've been better as they took me out of the film at times. Product placement out the wazzo! Way too distracting. The Ipad joke got old after the first time. Yes, it was derivative in parts, but it felt like it had potential to be great. Good to see once, not enough to make a yearly staple in Christmas viewing.

Good to see Noelle added here...put it on my watchlist the other night, though as much as I do like Anna Kendrick it’s not at the top of the pile yet. Maybe nearer Crimbo...!

That would help me see all those Hulu exclusive stuff that I want to check out but I can't access here in Australia.

It’s not a rumor...this has been on the cards for around two or three months now, since Covid, as they tried to work out what to do in countries that don’t have Hulu, and how they keep D+ a viable attractive option for subscribers that aren’t really getting that much new content each month.

There will be age filters applied at last, allowing for what I always thought D+ should have been all along...a full service that appeals to everyone, with the filters in place to offer kids stuff and adults everything else.

Then it’ll be the Netflix killer that was initially imagined, with ALL the 20th Century content in place. Now THAT'S going to be worth paying the full subs for!
