Yes...Eric, I think you’ll find that films and series change origin stories and plots so as not to be straight remakes and be different. There are no "lawyers" from different studios working out what can and can’t be used. But thanks for playing.

Producers, maybe, but never studios.

On another note:

The animation on "What if?" looks a little stiff, but does look pretty cool.
Having finally caught the trailer, I'll second the hopes on it so far--
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OQT3coNQbCg
Like Randall, I'm getting "Iron Man: Armored Adventures" vibes from the post-traditional 3D CGI "Faux-ink and paint" look that's usually reserved for video games, but at least it seems to be taking the stories seriously, unlike an entire generation of goofy Disney X-D series trying to appeal to cable viewers. As one of the few actual readers of the What If? comic, I'm keeping a sharper eye on this than D+'s other big participation-trophy LA series.

(Although, from the trailer, looks like the first big episode to spin off/set up the series will be "What if Agent Carter hadn't antagonized the fans, and lasted more than one season?" :P )

Agent Carter lasted two seasons.

New footage and preview of (one of) "WandaVision's" theme song:

I like it! Pretty amazing. Think they really nailed the retro vibe. It's already infectiously catchy. Notice that..
the baby has a birthmark in the same spot where Vision has the mind stone.
Pretty cool.

Basically, the "Hi, folks, I'm Endora Aunt Aggie, the vain interfering mother-in-law! (laughtrack!)" gag may be trying to work in Agatha Harkness, Wanda's witchy mentor in the print comics that tried to convince Wanda her power was occult magic and not Mutant "probability-altering" power.
(Which MCU couldn't use the first time, since she couldn't be Magneto's daughter from the Fox series.)

Which sort of symbolizes the schizophrenia this show is going through with the fans:
THEY want pure, uncut Marvel-comic canon and Dr. Strange 2 teases, because they've been starved for an entire, gasp, year without a real MCU movie (Twitter hype from the fans is posting Age of Ultron battle-GIFs as if they think that's what they're going to get); the show wants the cheap Millennial decade-shaming "Brady Bunch Movie" every-sitcom-was-Beaver-and-Full-House gags, with a heavy dose of feminist cultural passive-hostility every time the word "housewife" is mentioned.

Some one of the two is going to end up bitterly disappointed. :x Let's hope it's the one who can handle it.

Looks like that Matrix comparison might bear out, combined with another film from around the same time, Pleasantville. If they can mix it up nicely, I’m in for all the references they can chuck at us.

First reactions are in. Pretty positive so far. I like this tweet:
Brett White wrote:WandaVision is everything I wanted it to be and more. It is not a parody or snarky take on classic sitcoms. It’s the most respectful, sincere celebration of that art form that I’ve seen.... ever?
Not that I ever believed otherwise to begin with. I'm stoked.

It is not a parody or snarky take on classic sitcoms. It’s the most respectful, sincere celebration of that art form that I’ve seen.... ever?
It's not?? Even with all that cutesy "50's" overacting, and Wanda's snark-dripping "Look, gals, I'm culturally-deconstructive of a less enlightened era! :D " s***-eating hypnotized "housewife" smirk while in June Cleaver mode, that burns into your soul with every Disney+ Twitter plug?

("Most respectful ever" would necessarily have to include the 90's glory days of Nick TVLand--yes, even including their obsession with Donna Reed jokes--but sadly, those days are behind us...)

I'm not getting that vibe at all. I see more inspiration from "I Married Joan".

I'll admit it, most people have the bad habit of culturally citing "June Cleaver" when they really mean I Married Joan or The Donna Reed Show. It's all just a blur.
When they're on their smug decade-shaming kick, they....just don't care. :?

Episode count and run times confirmed.

https://whatsondisneyplus.com/loki-moon ... -revealed/
So to clarify how long the episodes are roughly and how many there will be:

The Falcon & The Winter Soldier – 6x 40/50 minute episodes
Wandavision – 9 x 30-minute episodes
She-Hulk – 10 x 30-minute episodes
Loki – 6 x 40/50 minute episodes
Moon Knight- 6 x 40/50 minute episodes
Much like the recent Disney+ series “Star Wars: The Mandalorian”, episode lengths have been able to change depending on the requirements of the story, since Disney+ shows don’t have to fit to the usual time constraints of traditional TV time slots.
