Yeah, thought we're not supposed to get hi-profile re-releases unless they've also got Blu-ray versions!
(Platinum, shmatinum, we want the whole feature catalog turned over, across the next decade...)

Unless this one is just supposed to be a cheap, quick Target-shelf tandem tie-in for a "Poc II" special edition they were trying to promote.

I still have no idea why they"re making those MMEs.
And at least Aladdin had a great cover (Better then Platinum Edition's) but the Pocahontas and Mulan covers looks like cheap rip-offs not releases of the actual films.

Calling Mulan a "Musical Masterpiece" is pushing it a little far, too...

Agree,in Mulan I only liked Reflection and Honor To Us All (It's catchy),the rest of the songs were lame.
Hercules more seems like a musical masterpiece then this.

Do you think Pocahontas will ever get a remake?

For sure. Just a matter a time. Depending how much they want to be faithful, I could see Grandmother Willow changed into a human.

Yes, but they'd have to add a lot more story. The original's story is really pretty slight.

It would be a waste of time, though. You can't beat the visuals of the original.

My brother was Kokoum for Halloween the year the original came out. Somehow I don't think Disney would release that costume today (considering the Maui "controversy" from a while back).

Which is to say that Pocahontas is probably one of the last 90's movies Disney would remake, since everyone is walking on eggshells right now with this stuff. And it's the sort of subject matter where--no matter what they do--they'd end up "offending" someone enough for it make some headlines they wouldn't welcome.
"Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, but today is a gift--that is why it's called the present."

Since they're now using the LA's as brand-revivals for movies during the '95-'05 "Troubles" that were ignored as an unmentionable time after Eisner left, I'm guessing the Hercules, Lilo, Mulan and rumored Atlantis remakes will be joined by a Pocahontas, Emperor's New Groove and a Hunchback.
(Unless they pull out the "Live TV musical" of Hunchback they were going to do back during that craze as a D+ original.)

...No Treasure Planet, Chicken Little or Home on the Range, though.

As we all know, Hunchback is very much already in development. With Josh Gad as Quasi, natch. The inside line is it’s Rob Marshall's to refuse after Mermaid.

BTW, during both arrests Bedard informed cops she's 53 ... and not in the fun 'SNL' skit way.
Here's the SNL skit they hint at for those who don't remember Sally O'Malley!
