The UK got a similar price hike in April, which is why we are probably canceling D+ come next year. I know they’ve just beat Netflix in subscriptions, but that only proves more people want D+ over 'Flix at a time when 'Flix is bleeding subs. Disney feels emboldened to price hike…just as the cost of living crisis starts to bite: first thing to go will be overpriced, lower value streaming services…unless D+ finally pulls the plug on Hulu and ESPN and rolls it all into one lump to create the illusion of better value…

Another studio co owns hulu so disney can't just kill it and add it to plus. Plus hulu does really well with its live cable channels.

As I do keep mentioning, Universal only owns 30% of Hulu. Disney now has 60% due to its own share and buying 20th, as well as having a buyout clause that it can use whenever it likes, and both Diz and Uni know that is the endgame, hence why no new Uni content on Hulu.

Also, Diz has full operational control over Hulu, as also agreed with Uni, so could in theory merge it all with D+ whenever it likes, though it is understood that Uni would then expect Diz to make good on the buyout clause.
