What the hell are you talking about? They've always been rivals.

Disney recently bought Pixar - Lasseter is in charge of a lot of stuff over there now. If they were always such fierce rivals, why was Disney distributing Pixar's movies?

I think I saw it when I was little. Don't remember much, but I guess I kinda liked it.

To add to the "randomness", every time I hear Chitty Chitty Bang Bang all I can think of Ace Ventura singing it while he's driving through the jungle! Dang you Jim Carrey for ruining that for me! My wife was singing it the other day and I told her this and she says I've ruined it for her now too!

Anyway, I saw The Wild today, and was very impressed.

First off, anyone comparing this movie is off their rocker. Besides there being a lion, Giraffe, and going from new york to africa, none of the movie is anything like Madagascar. I liked it a lot. Especially everything to do with the Wildebeasts. I wasn't expecting any of that at all.

The very beginning of the movie was totally awesome too. They could have done the whole movie like THAT and it would have been amazing.

You know what, I' am so damn sick of tired of CGI animated films, what ever happened to 2-D and stop motion animation? Now they're way better than CGI animated films besides CGI is for live action anyway.

I also prefer 2d films personally, but I think some CGI can be awesome.
CGI tells a story, just like 2d.

And I think there has been talk of at least a partial return to 2d, via some scenes in Enchanted. Although I don't think that's due till 2008, unfortunately.

And stop-motion? Well, there was Chicken Run, Wallace and Gromit and Corpse Bride had that "look" to it. Ditto Flushed Away!

True but Dsiney and Dreamworks just keep forgetting about them, acting as if they don't exist plus they see CGI animated films as cash cows.

Well, Chicken Run and Wallace and Gromit were both DW weren't they? They produced and distributed those films, and Katzenberg flew back and forth to Bristol to check on their progress. Flushed Away is also DW. (being animated at DW Glendale studio although Aardman is basically calling the shots on it.)

There is actually still talk here and there of Tortoise and the Hare finally coming to fruition one day, once the story is straightend out. It may or may not be CGI but it will probably duplicate that Aardman stop motion "look." (at least that's my impression)
