I never knew that! "Krusty Gets Busted" was always a favorite of mine.

ShyViolet wrote:BTW this is off-topic but did you know Brad Bird personally directed "Krusty Gets Busted" from the first season, and co-directed "Like Father, Like Clown" from Season 2? (With Krusty's Rabbi father) Pretty cool. :)
It's actually one of the earlier episodes in Season 3.

Brad Bird was, in the first eight seasons, the executive consultant for the series. He had directed an animated piece for Amazing Stories called American Dog (this later was spun off into a short lived series), which used interesting angles to hide the limited TV animation. Matt Groening and co noticed this, and brought him on board to help give and maintain a more cinematic look to the series as opposed to the look of a Hanna Barbera piece.

Wasn't it "Family Dog"? I think American Dog is the movie in production.

Yes, "Family Dog", which was actually created by Tim Burton and directed by Brad Bird.

The season one box for Amazing Stories is coming up...hopefully it will sell enough for season two - and "Family Dog" - to come out too and I can retire my off air tapes and LDs.

I have the original "Family Dog" episode on LD - it's nothing amazing, but essentially predates ALL of these animated family sitcoms - notably The Simpsons - by a couple of years.

Family Dog was spun off into a Nelvana series, not as well animated as the Amazing Stories "pilot" (which is close to theatrical quality of the time), but with better stories and funnier moments. It was released in an LD box set though never re-aired or available on DVD.

Told ya!

But what else would you expect from the list of guys on that show?? Chris Buck, Duncan Marjoribanks, Kirk Wise, Ralph Eggleston, Sue Kroyer, Tony Fucile...

And another great theme from Mr Elfman! :)

Hmmm...those Simpsons similarities just keep comin' back, don't they? ;)

It's coming (at least to Region 1) on August 15th! I'm really looking forward to this; I really want to see all these classic episodes again (most I haven't seen in years now).

I wonder what the box version will look like, I really hate the ones that look like heads.

This isn't a web site but a REALLY funny book you can find in Bookstores. (humor section) It's great for anyone who loves fantasy, sci fi, animtion, whatever--bascially everyone who visits this site.

Just so funny. :D

The standard boxes are inside the heads anyway, though, right?

If it does have a movie preview on there, it'll only be what we've already seen.
