BTW, it never fails to surprise me how these voice over guys, who often also do a fair amount of kids characters, are so vulgar when they speak for themselves. I'm NO prude, but why the unsuitable profanity??
Well...It's got something to do with being an actor, I suppose.

Hey guys, sorry to get your hopes up. Apparently, Billy West jumped the gun a little bit.

Comedy Central Resurrects Futurama

Source: Variety June 23, 2006

Comedy Central has resurrected the former Fox series Futurama, ordering 13 episodes to debut in 2008. The deal builds upon the cable channel's acquisition of the 72-episode library last fall.

Discussions about a revival of the half-hour began in earnest earlier this year between Futurama producer 20th Century Fox Television and series creators Matt Groening and David X. Cohen.

Actors Billy West, Katey Sagal and John DiMaggio are onboard for the new episodes that will continue the story of the pizza delivery boy, accidentally frozen for 1,000 years, who wakes up in the future.

Futurama has traveled a course similar to that of animated series Family Guy, which also was cancelled and later brought back after DVD releases and off-network repeats grew a new fanbase

This is fantastic news. I think Futurama is one of the best animated shows on television if not THE best. One of the best shows PERIOD. Everything about it was completely awesome.

hehe, i loved that show when it was still on, would be the only TV show to take 'The Simpsons" place if it goes off the air after the movie...

I love Futurama too...I just got Volume 1 on DVD. I love how they make comments on our society by showing what the future might be like.

Interesting how both Family Guy and Futurama were cancled, but due to the popularity in reruns and DVD, were brought back. :)

Just goes to show how prime-time TV isn't the all-powerful thing it used to be...now everything's either on cable or DVD. Boy have things changed.

Wal-MArt has the season 3 and season 4 DVDs for $19.99 each. Oddly, season two is $29.99!

Um....are you you sure about that :? I just got season two less than a month ago because it was that cheap :P

Eh.... They change all the time, so its no surprise. And since this thread has been resurected, I'm really happy Futurama is coming back!! Woot :D.

It deserves another chance, and who knows it might be better  or at least as great as it was.

I got Season 1--the first 13 episodes--at Wal-Mart last summer. To the best of my recollection, it cost $14.00 + tax.

BTW...less than two months till The Simpsons Season 9 comes out! :D
