Nice Deja Interview!

Post by GeorgeC »

Seems like a good guy.

Nice to hear he's got another project coming up at Disney. Seems like he isn't totally disheartened by what's happened at the Company.

Still would be nice if Disney would do another 2D feature... I'm sick of the all-CGI, ONLY-CGI mentality that's pervading Hollywood now. There's a certain visual blandess pervading the CGI features that really wasn't there when 2D features were being made.

Well, the interview took place before the closing of the Sydney studio, so now he is disheartened.

I heard he was due a call from someone high up at the studio, to talk to him about that. ;)

Did you ever hear the outcome of that discussion?

When I was able to get back to him on Thursday he wouldn't say what mini-ME had told him and I didn't want to pry. I talked with him again on the phone yesterday and I could tell he is still very disgruntled about the closing of the Sydney studio and the overall dormancy of 2D animation at the moment.

I'll bet. Wonder what his feeling is on what Keane is trying to do?

I'm glad Eric's back where he belongs.

Oh, and LOVED those Monkey Tale images, especially the last one.... Yep, those are Sue's colors all right!

Oh, and I know I'll get slammed for second-guessing Eric, but his Panther is too short! Those legs need some stretching! And the tail too!

I loved the Rhapsody in Blue segment in Fantasia 2000, and the Flamingo one was cute too. He did a great job on those, as well as Pocahontas and the Genie. :)
You can’t just have your characters announce how they feel! That makes me feel angry!

I also thought that was a cool picture he drew of you with Genie last time!

He couldn't really give details about any current Disney projects.

Interview with Disney's "Wendy" & "Alice&

Post by GeorgeC »

http://news.toonzone.net/article.php?ID=15707

ToonZone interviewed Kathryn Beaumont, the voice actress for both the female leads in Alice in Wonderland (1950) and Peter Pan (1953).

Gotta confess that Ms. Beaumont (yes, I know she's married!) was one of my Disney crushes (along with Annette and Hayley) growing up. Love that voice, like the lady behind the scenes.

It's a revealing article about her involvement with these Disney films and her career as an elementary school teacher in the United States.

This is only the second of the interviews I've seen done with Ms. Beaumont over the past few weeks leading up to the 2-disc Platinum Edition release of Peter Pan this upcoming Tuesday.

P.S. -- It's the THIRD release of Peter Pan on DVD so far...

Thanks, George. Animated Views will also offer interviews with Kathryn Beaumont and Margaret Kerry later this week.
