I hope it's great.

I remember when Pirates 2 came out, it got terrible reviews. Then I saw it anyway and thought it was fantastic. I think pretty much everyone who saw it agreed.

Here's hoping Shrek 3's the same!

Pirates 2 was a fun ride, but way overrated IMHO...As for Srek 3, I think I'll catch it in the second run theaters.

Only 48% at Rotten Tomatoes? I must agree with Sullivan however, POTC:DMC got bad reviews but I really enjoyed it. Then again, I love the trailers and what's coming for POTC:AWE however Shrek 3 looks terrible. Looks to me like the only good part is the questioning of Pinocchio.

and we've already seen that dozens of times in the trailers & commercials

indeed we have. I don't have high expectations for this movie. Bee movie however I am rather looking forward too. I just hope they don't make a schmozzle out of Madagascar 2 because I liked Madagascar.

It's doing well, guys...we'll have a report up on the full numbers tomorrow, but Shrek 3 brought in $39m on Friday alone.

Shrek 4 is a certainty now! ;)

Wow, it is doing good! I hope that I'll like it.
I'm sure they'll get a Shrek 4 if the ratings continue good.

$122,000,000!

Congratulations, Dreamworks! Holy wow! Much more in one weekend than the entire run of MTR!

Disney should just pack it up. ;-)

But seriously Dreamworks, Congrats! Best animated movie opening of all-time... you even beat your own record!

I can't wait for "Puss-in-Boots!"

I seen Shrek the Thrid and it was okay wasn't that bad or that good.
But I really prefer the first two over Shrek the Third.
Shrek the Third didn't really have that many funny parts and the borest part of the movie was when Shrek, Donky and Puss-in-Boots went to take Arthur to Far Far Away. But overall it was okay. I think The Simpsons Movie will be way funnier. Shrek the Third had trailers for Surf's Up, The Simpsons Movie, Transformers, Ratatouille, Hairspray, Evan Almight, Bee Movie and Hot Rod.

Let's hope POTC: AWE is going to be better then the first two.

I'm glad Shrek the Third is doing well. :) It does pale by comparison with Shrek 2 .. but there are still, as I said, many enjoyable scenes, throughout.

Though, for my own part, I did enjoy Meet the Robinsons more. In fact, I'm heading down to the El Capitan right now, for one last 3-D screening .. 8) <-- 3-D glasses

I knew it wasn't going to be as good as Shrek 2, but it is still good.

My only bias against Shrek 3 so far is that it's the reason the UK has to wait until October for Ratatouille!

With that ready to come out late June, DreamWorks already scuppered Disney's release date here by announcing Shrek 3 for the UK in late June, meaning that Disney wouldn't want to release Ratatouille within that time frame. The next available date was October, also meaning Disney could use the US prints over here.

But, if Shrek had come out here too this weekend, chances are that we'd have gotten Ratatouille late June too. :(

Ahh well, only six or so weeks to go until Shrek 3...
