I didn't get the whole giant thing...what was that about? And then she just breaks off and disappears?

Nope...lost...but I too just sat back and watched everyone swinging around on ropes at the end.

Well, the end before 4 comes along, which with more than half a billion in the bank already, is a sure thing. As is 5 and 6.

Personally, I found it less of a disappointment than Spider-Man 3, but I'm gonna have sort my thoughts about the movie overall....

One thing I still don't get from DMC is what that place is where Jack escapes from in the beginning with the birds eating those prisoners. I thought this would be explained in AWE, maybe something to do with Davy Jones since that's where Jack presumably got the picture of the key, but apparently not.

That is what I have been wanting to know for a long time too Vernadyn! What is with that place? Is it a pirate prison? Is it a prison owned by the EITC? I was hoping that would answer that too.

I saw it last weekend and I for one, loved it!

The first one was created to stand on its own with no sequals. The second one had too much action and no story. The third one had plenty of action well balanced with a good story, I admit it was too long, they could've afforded to take out an hour or so...

Either way, I liked it, no 'happily ever after' ending, a good plot. It just felt a little add-libbed with no connection to the first movie. But it was a good watch! ^^

Partial answer to beginning of Dead Man's Chest mystery
The prison at the beginning of Dead Man's Chest (according to the script) is a Turkish prison. It doesn't mention how the key got there, but that is what it is. Also the two guys who get killed by the Kraken shortly later are speaking in Turkish (it says so if you put subtitles on).

Now this is what it says in the script and the subtitles. How they got all the way to the Caribbean after that is beyond me.

On a historical note, during this time Turkey was known as the Ottoman Empire and it was far larger than what modern Turkey is (although they didn't control anything in the Americas back then either). The Turks weren't all that big into seafaring either. Also there was no such thing as Turkish back then (they spoke Arabic), it is a language that was invented in the late 1910's to early 1920's.
here is a link to read the script:

Of course you could just go directly and ask them about it:

I'm really not up for another Pirates movie, unless it's so good it washes the bad taste of the third one from my mouth...If this news is true, it sounds like they're once again trying to make it too 'big', which is one reason why the second and third weren't up to par with the first.

Exactly, bigger is worse in the case of Pirates.
At least we're rid of Keira and Orlando, that's always good...no?

I guess...

Also, just read Ben's "Tooning In...." Update. When you put it that way, it doesn't sound as bad. And thanks for the credit, btw! :)

Off topic: I love the pic of Lucy at the Lamp post!!!! :)

I even have a figurine with that exact scene from the film.
You can’t just have your characters announce how they feel! That makes me feel angry!
