Evan Almighty was always planned, with Carrey still in the title role.
But he dropped out and they went to Carrell before he hit big - they got him cheap.
The movie was supposed to come out around the time the New Orleans floods came, so it was held back and has apparently had some reshoots done to it.
But it was always planned, and not just based around Carrell becoming so big.

Cool!
I guess they were lucky they got Carrell before he became such a hot property.

Yeah, I guess you really know me.

Epic Movie wasn't that good. It just had these isolated little scenes that were funny, but all in all--it wasn't so great. I just loved Daryl Hammond as Jack Sparrow however--classic.
Exactly!

Hairspray is 94% on RT!!!
I'm totally seeing this film! Is anyone else?

(I've never seen the original 1988 film, or the show, but this looks really, really good. Christopher Walken, James Marsden, John Travota?? Broadway songs?
Can't wait.)

Well, it was fresh back in the 60s.
It just comes over as another James Bond spoof because all the recent James Bond spoofs basically ripped off Get Smart!!
And Anne Hathaway as 99? Perfection.

Borat ) is the villain?

Loved him. So did everyone else.
I smiled whenever he was on. It was "weird" at first to see him as an older woman, but he did a great job and the script is so, so funny, and sweet, and heartwarming.
I think he might seriously be nom'd for something, as might this whole film.
