Well people love penguins what did you expect? They're the hottest animals on the market today.

I don't think they are now as much, there's sort of a backlash against Penguins now with all the movies that have included them (Madagascar, Happy Feet, March of the Penguins, Surf's Up) Didn't you catch that joke in The Simpsons Movie with the Grand Theft Walrus tapdancing penguin getting shot to death? :P
(Gee, I wonder how many of those celebs had ridden their bike to get there? Rolling Eyes)

LOL Meg!!!
No, Vi...Zimmer's score is workmanlike and perfunctory. It was David Newman-lite...no chance at an Oscar.
Well.....maybe not win it, but at least nominated. Some parts are quite moving, others action-packed and thrilling. At least I thought so. :P

Ok true but I think the Academy still loves penguins.

That is nuts...to think a movie won because it has penguins in it. Surf's Up will win next year though, even though it's not the blockbuster Sony were hoping for.

Well March of the Penguins did win Best Documentary and somehow made alot of money, not bad for a documentary.

MOTP was a documentary though....different from animated features.
Penguins may have been hot two years ago, but I don't think there's any more Penguin movies coming out. (Although I could be wrong.)

AHHHH, right, of course! :) How could I forget Mad 2?

AKA: "March of the Psychotic Penguins" :P

2006 - Happy Feet (help me out here, released by Warner Bros-? Anyway, NOT Disney. Or Pixar. Or Dreamworks, for that matter.)
At first I thought Sony for some reason, but I checked the site and you're right--it's Warner Brothers, "In Association With Village Roadshow Pictures."

Aside from the Christmas Caper short on the Mad DVD, they've never had a DTV. Unless you mean something else?

I saw Surf's Up last night.

Very brave movie...unless Bee Movie gets some solid support based JUST on the draw of Jerry Seinfeld, I think Surf's could be the third contended in a three-horse race.

Yes, I am talking about something else - aren't they planning on releasing a Mad spinoff starring the penguins?
