Not that I mind your quote, but what part of "keep it as broad as you can. We've had some pretty obscure ones staying up for days on end because they're from one episode of some TV show, or something" did you not understand...!

;)

Well I'm sorry but if I do that, then it's an easy guess. What's the fun in a game like this if it's easy? :)

Exactly...to make it "fun". This shouldn't be the heaviest chore in the world, and many of our readers are not as integrated in various animation strands or history as some others.

Why not? I thought you guys would like other animation and possibly know it.

A few of us do .. but (from my observation) most of the 'regulars' who post on this board are primarily familiar with feature animation released in the U.S.A. .. mostly from the last 10-15 years (with Disney features being the main exception). As far as animated TV series go, The Simpsons, Animaniacs, and maybe some of the 'Disney Afternoon' toons will get answered .. but outside of that, you might find them to be too 'obscure' for a quick response. Still, that's plenty of material to choose from! :)

I was surprised that I'd managed to stump everyone in this thread once with a Charlie Brown film reference .. and I've sometimes considered submitting lines from The Flintstones or other old Hanna-Barbera cartoons, but then thought better of it.

As Ben says, it's keeping the game going (while keeping it 'fun') that should be the goal. Choosing a quote too far outside the board's usual sphere just stops the game 'dead'.

Well, then I recommend members of this forum to look at animation outside the U.S. and besides I like for people to guess the answer.

Fine, then: Sailor Uranus, from Sailor Moon Stars.

Gawd, y'know, I'm getting really tired of the combative tone. Is that the idea? Because if so I've just had enough of it and really can't be bothered.

I just explained things above. Play the game, and play the game.

So, what was the quote?

My apologies; I certainly didn't mean to appear 'combative' ..

CodeHorror's quote was, "It's too late after you're caught by a wolf, my little kitten."

and my answer was, Sailor Uranus from Sailor Moon Stars.

If that is correct (and I'm pretty sure it was, but I'll wait for CH's confirmation), then I'll be happy to provide a quote for the next round, a little later.

K, this has gotten really screwed up!

I was referring to CH, Droo, not you. We all seemed to be posting at the same time.

That I potentially now offended you is another reason CH should now be packing his bags...just too disruptive for our quiet climes...

No worries; all is well, AFAIC .. 8)

--------------

Here's the next quote ..

Character A: "I think the heat's starting to get to the boy!"

Character B: "Well, I'll say! Look how red he is!"

Hint #1: it's not from an anime TV series ..
