Um...Marshall can not get a movie going by himself. If he's saying this is possible, it's with Disney and Spielberg in tow.

And Roger was never around before the 1988 movie...what's the problem with him not being around now? Same difference, isn't it?

Get the Rabbit back on the big screen! :)

I have no idea at all about the specifics today, but the problem of pursuing a sequel has always been that there is SO much gross out to the participants there would almost be no way for Disney to make enough money to justify the astronomical up front production cost.

That's what they said about Men In Black II... ;)

Hopefully, if we did see a Roger follow-up, it would be better than that! :)

It will be nice if they'll make a sequel.
Just a question-is it that Jessica Rabbit had her own line of marchandise? (i can't think of a character like this being market like TinkerBell).

An album called Faith,Trust and Pixie Dust was released this month,it's from Kerry Butler (She played Belle in Beauty and the Beast Broadway musical for a while and sang Ariel in the Little Mermaid Broadway musical demo album) and she sings the usual Disney songs (Sceond Star To The Right,Colors Of The Wind and etc.) and special songs (Call Me A Princess,Disneyland and etc.),anyway she sings This Only Happens In The Movies from the deleted Roger Rabbit prequel, you can hear samples here:

Well, I mean that we may have something coming up on this (Kerry's album), too...

There's no point making a teaser comment if you go into all the details!

Post by Cinderallaboi » January 23rd, 2009, 6:04 pm

In 2008 was the 20th anniversary of this movie and they didn't releases it on a 20th anniversary dvd to honor it which was sad but now with blu-ray maybe there just waiting to get the ok to put it on dvd and blu-ray which I would love for them to do. I'm a huge fan of this movie. I really did like the 2 disc dvd they came out with in 2003 I think it was that the one I have.

 Apparently, Robert Zemeckis is at least thinking about a sequel .. though, major details (such as whether it would be possible to get Spielberg, Katzenberg, and Disney to agree on anything -- or even to be able to re-unite all the 'toon characters from the various studios) are not discussed.

Also, Zemeckis mentions 'performance capture' in the article .. which does not bode well for the possibility of this (speculative) movie featuring 'old school' traditional animation. :?

Very intriguing news. Zemeckis says the film is based on a new idea, which I'm guessing means he isn't doing Who Discovered Roger Rabbit.
