The Incredibles type TV show THE NELSONS

Post by Ben » September 9th, 2008, 9:22 am

As I just posted on our front page...

http://www.animated-news.com/2008/the-i ... ing-to-tv/

Three things: I don't see why Disney didn't think of this already, I don't get how they're basically letting someone else rip off their idea, and I can't believe they're going to end up paying to air it on their channel!

Of course, this could be quite good, but I hope they kind of link it to the "inspiration" a bit, like saying the Nelsons once knew the Parrs before they moved ("hey, there government couldn't have two superhero families living in the same street!") or something like that, so it feels like a genuine continuation, with a nod and a wink, instead of just ripping off the idea.

I mean, even the name of the family has Incredibles connections...

Why Disney (Or Pixar?) didn't thought of making Incredibles TV series? that whould have been neat thought I think they were planning something like this, weren't they? they only made this Disney On Ice show of them going to DisneyWorld.

What I thought really had a connection to The Incredibles was http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_X's which aired on Nick. (The link doesn't seem to include the apostrophe and the 's', so you'll have to input those manually if you copy and paste the link.)

I only saw one episode, but I thought that the resemblance was there, albeit sans the apparent lack of superpowers :P.

Yes, that looks interestingly close, even though I'd feel the spy genre has been done to death with mistaken identities and hidden lives, etc.

This new one seems to basically rip off the concept lock, stock and barrel, as well as use a connecting name!
