According to Toon Zone, Tinker Bell is going to have a special presentation on Disney Channel November 30th. (8:00 P.M., ET/PT) The full-length movie for one night. Wow! No doubt it's to get more people to buy the movie, but still, smart move Disney.

Now I'm torn, do I wait to watch it for free, or get it around street date... Store exclusives and the price will be the deciding factor for me. ;)

But I'm betting there will be ads...and that ALWAYS detracts from the magic.

True, though it could go either way. It could play with limited to no commercial breaks, or they'll show a commercial every 15 minutes. Ah, the wonders of Tivo. 8)

Even with my DVR, I still seem to 'get taken out of' of the movie's world by having to fast forward every so often.

Pretty slim pickings thus far, as far as store goodies are concerned. Target is offering nothing with the BD, the DVD OTOH gets a Giftset, and Circuit City's exclusive is an interactive gift card. I hope Best Buy offers something better.

blind buy is when you buy bad movies like this because only a blind person would actually pick this movie up

It is good - better than you expect it to be. It's pretty beautiful to be honest visually and though the characters do move a little like constipated action figures, I quite enjoyed it for what it was. I do still wish Tink had never opened her mouth, but it's an alright feature.

I saw it yesterday and pretty much agree. It's a little cheesy, but it has a lot of heart. It's on my wish list for Blu! I'm also exited for the next film too.

Disney has sent us Tink as their first Blu-ray review copy, so I guess I'll be handling that once it arrives, since Ben hasn't bought his Blu-ray player yet. How much do you want to bet he'll buy the player in time to review Wall*E?

He should probably get a Sony player, whether it's a PS3 or standalone BD player.

Definitely get one that's upgradeable. Lower-end models generally aren't Profile 2.0 compatible and I'm not aware of the upgrade features of those if they have them.

With all the problems with various BDs -- the Bond BDs being the latest culprits --, you need to have an upgradeable unit!

Sony seems to be pretty good at getting firmware upgrades out fast. This is their format and they seem to be committed to making it work.

Haven't heard about the Panasonic players so much, and I imagine the Pioneer models are good but you really don't have spend more than $300 for a quality Blu-Ray player now.

I have heard that Samsung isn't as good with firmware updates.
