Thats cool but I'm still a bit unclear. So they are getting rid of Discovery kids and making a new channel with hasbro? Is it going to be a extended cable or satellite channel? Will they show old shows or just new ones? Oh oh does this mean they will finally release the rest of Jem on dvd ?

The Hub - Hasbro's New TV Channel
As many of you may or may not know Discovery Kids will no loner exist and it will become, on 10.10.10, The Hub. The channel was purchased by Hasbro and will be a collaborative effort between the two companies, Hasbro and Discovery. The channel advertises programming for families and kids of all ages. It will also primarily showcase many new shows based on Hasbro's toys and licensed characters such a My Little Pony and Transformers. There will also be a new Fraggle Rock. (Rumors have also been circulating that the channel will also feature some 'classic' older cartoons from the hasbro library to fill in current gaps in programming.)

Sure it's not the Hasbro/Marvel-animated cartoon version from '87, which the licensors seem to have newly dug out of the vault this month?Foxtale wrote: There will also be a new Fraggle Rock.
(Or even the vintage reruns, that Disney doesn't own?)

I guess I just assumed it was a new one. It might be old since they don't show a preview image of it and now that I have re-read the blurb it says "landmark series from Jim Henson."
"Fraggle Rock: Hidden under the home of a wily inventor named Doc and his dog, Sprocket, is a place called Fraggle Rock, a world of brightly lit caves where the Fraggles live. While the Fraggles spend their days laughing, singing and playing, they also face thrilling adventures as they learn to coexist with other forms of life in this landmark series from Jim Henson."
When I tried to dig up more information I found an IMDB about a movie... http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0481649/

(That WAS Disney's attempt to get "new" old Muppet movies going, which all seem to have gone the way of the Dark Crystal sequel...Which, btw, they're trying one last chance to revive with the 3-D project-resurrecting craze, but IBIWISI.)Foxtale wrote:When I tried to dig up more information I found an IMDB about a movie... http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0481649/

There are always rumors flying about Jem so nothing is certain. Hasbro did re-new a lot of Jem related domain names. Who knows what the future has in store.Otis8 wrote:What about Jem? >:[
Eric- Thanks for the clarification. I'm not really a Fraggle fan so I am very uneducated on current events surrounding the license.
