I've always been a fan of the "Asterix" books and still have to read "Asterix and the Picts". But I've seen a few of the "Asterix" films, so this one seems interesting as well.

I remember the old dubbed ones on Disney Channel, but I still haven't seen any of the live-action ones with Gerard Depardieu as Obelix.

They're pretty bad. The first three (Asterix The Gaul, Asterix And Cleopatra and The Twelve Tasks Of Asterix) are the best, very well animated and written, while the more recent Asterix And The Vikings, made in the early/mid 2000s, is absolutely gorgeous, as close to Disney values as you'll find.

I really enjoyed The Vikings. It seemed more true to the books than the other animated ones I recall for my childhood.
