What is it with "grown up" CG characters that just feels a little weird!? Moana looks better in motion, though, and the animation looks on par with "real" feature quality. Hate the streaming 2:1, lack of 'Scope widescreen ratio, though. Looks more TV than movie. And if ever there was an argument for this to have a Roman numeral II rather than a 2, that would make it feel a little more "grown up" and epic too. If anything, it looks a bit too close to a retread, but let’s see how it goes…

Because it was meant to be a TV show. They turned this into a movie because Wish sucked and delayed/cancelled the original movie that was supposed to be released on November instead of Moana 2.

Yah, yah, ve know zis! ;)

It doesn’t *look* like television. The original was in a 'Scope widescreen ratio, and it would have been nice (and no reason not to) have this in the same ratio, which would make it feel more like a movie than the streaming compilation it started as. :)

Still pointless, but she seems a good fit.

Looks a little episodic and rote, and it still bugs me they didn’t render it at the first film's 2.39:1 ratio, but hopefully it’ll be enjoyable enough.

Well, it’s no How Far I’ll Go, but you can hear the Into The Unknown vibes of trying to capture that lightning in the bottle again. Just like the songs in that film, this sounds like it wouldn’t be out of place on the Eurovision stage. ;)

What's the conflict exactly? Going on another journey? She's been going on journeys since the original film, what's the big deal?

It's sequel logic. Her journey was over, but now something else has happened which means she has to learn everything all over again. ;)

Sequel logic: First time out Moana went on a journey and Maui helped out. So this time Maui will need to go on a journey and Moana will go along to help out.
