The Book Of Mormon is actually very, very funny. And since it's not a movie cross-over (or "moviecal" as I like to call 'em), we can't knock it for that. Who says writers (and writers that have proved their musical credentials and ambitions) can't enter another medium and experiment?

Yeah,

And the difference is that Trey Parker and Matt Stone are actually good at what they do!

I'll be honest... I've never cared for Bono or U2 that much. (By principle, I find anybody that refers to themselves with one name professionally to be pompous and off-putting... not to mention they take themselves too seriously. Such poseurs!) The more I see of the guy and hear about his mercy missions, the more I'm convinced he's working for the Dark Side...

Seriously, I think the South Park guys pegged him right in that episode they did about Number Two a few years back.

You have to love local-New-Yorker Sesame Street in-jokes. :D

And, about as close as Spiderman ever will get to the Tonys:

Sesame Street seems to be back on track!

The Tonys: "War Horse" and "congratulatory cable" got me. :)

The highlight of the Tonys was easily the South Park guys winning Best Musical. :-)

Seriously, I've been listening to the Book of Mormon cast recording all weekend and it's classic Parker-Stone. Who would have thought they would put on a more successful musical than Julie Taymor doing Spider-Man?

Matt and Trey basically never fail to surprise, or succeed! :)
