Yeah, Something Wicked just got a Blu upgrade for DMC last year, that should seem to be the "minimum" for D+ catalog inclusion.

(As for Child of Glass, that was one of the three Warner Archive-wannabe MOD titles they experimented with in the early 00's before streaming, so we know it at least exists digitally.)

And I've always wondered whether 100 Lives of Black Jack Savage was their deliberate attempt to do a Blackbeard's Ghost series, if not for the original book holding the rights.

Not that it matters, but Something Wicked was a lot longer ago than last year. I’ve had that Blu on the shelf since before the pandemic I think.

As for that MOD run ("Disney Generations"?), I’d have liked to have been able to pick up the Witch Mountain knockoff, and super-rarely seen Trenchcoat, as well as Ben And Me, which I believe is the longer version on that disc, but I could never find where to order them!

Something Wicked (along with Watcher in the Woods) came out 2 years ago, on Sept. 7, 2021.

Artemis Fowl, The One and Only Ivan, Crater, and more are now available as pay per view titles on various platforms. Not a huge surprise. It makes sense that Disney would still try to monetize them somehow. But it does show the shifting priorities and strategies as the business realities of streaming are being taken more seriously.

Ben wrote: May 18th, 2023, 4:37 pmHowever, maybe this is an indication of disc releases? You know, remove stuff from one platform and make it available on another…? Or is that just wishful thinking…?
Ben wrote: May 21st, 2023, 6:18 pmI’m sure there are plenty of broadcasters in countries that don't have D+ and have regular non-subscriber audiences that would appreciate being able to see [this content].

I just don’t think this is the end for any of these disappearing properties. I think at the very least they’ll go into regular syndication packages. They won’t just "disappear".
No, no surprise at all. And I still expect network TV to pick up the shows, and even discs for those titles that still prove resilient through their various platform releases. :)
