It was never a short, always being intended as one half of a feature film. It was later issued as a version for TV.
Walt actually DID do Mickey's voice here, but was taken over by Jimmy Macdonald when additional lines were needed and he wasn't available. In the end, more lines were added, and it's approximately 30% Walt, 70% Jimmy in the final tracks.
Yeah, I wanted to say it was a feature, but it never actually appeared in theaters. I thought that if I'd said that, I'd pretty much be giving it away so... (I mean it's either that or Ichabod.)

Oh yeah....when Mickey says "That's right. A housefly!" that has GOT to be Walt's voice.
You can’t just have your characters announce how they feel! That makes me feel angry!
BTW this game kinda reminds me of Scene It. (board/DVD game) Has anyone ever played that? It's like movie trivial pursuit, but it comes with a DVD that has scenes/clues/clips from many kinds of films. There's Disney Scene It too!

But, did he have a name ..? Sorry, I'm nowhere near a DVD player ATM, so I hated to guess .. but I honestly don't remember any of the Alley Cat Gang having names, except Scat Cat ..
