Good point AG - it was suprising that there was no Pirates trailer in front of Cars.

I'm actually not surprised about that - I think Disney has purposefully kept all the Pirates trailers PG/PG-13 so no one thinks it will be spoofy or silly and of course you can't play a PG or above trailer with a G film anymore.

Danes = Danish, from Denmark (northern European?)
It was, I had hoped, a joke...

Ahhh.
Sorry I ruined your joke. I was trying to think of a family named the Danes and nothing was coming to me. LOL

I think that he was being sarcastic when he said that.

The new description of the plot seems interesting, but I think they could use more emotion. I guess that will be revealed in time.
It seems like Bowler Hat Guy will still be there (but perhaps less than before?)

EDIT: Wait, Pirates III is coming out next year? Did they like film them back to back or something?

Reminds me of Back to the Future, II and III. (they filmed them together too.)

It's been known for ages that they're doing both "Pirates" sequels back-to-back. It's also been speculated that they'll be "Connected" somehow.

Yes. I've heard that II has a cliffhanger ending with Jack in deep water...
