His beard gradually turned white; it’s been all-white for a few years now. But yeah, I guess he’s getting on a bit. He did do a pretty good acting job in this independent drama/sci-fi/horror film from a few years ago. (Although his role was relatively small.)

(And yeah that’s Shawn Ashmore as the other cop. :))

Also unavailable for me. Maybe it's a US-only thing.

History Channel will debut an eight-part docuseries on the history of the franchise. Should be good.

I really hope they don’t put TOS in the “campy” box the way media historians often do. Maybe the producers didn’t have today’s technology (and the episodes’ visual style was different) but there were some wonderful stories, many of them quite progressive.

I mean this is the show that CREATED MR. SPOCK! No TOS, no Spock! Lol. :). Plus William Shatner could REALLY ACT when he wanted to: remember “City on the Edge of Forever”?

He was pretty epic in “Wrath of Khan”, too.

Wish I’d seen this in theaters, back when movie-spoiling social media was but a dream!

Shatner is a much better actor than many give him credit for, but I’m not entirely sure he ever took Star Trek *quite* seriously enough to break the slightly genial Kirk he brought to the screen. But he’s inherently a very good actor who, when the writing supported it, could really put it over.

Trek is still amazing to see, considering what else was on screens when it debuted. Yes, it’s "of its time", but I never find it dated. I think this show will treat it as the genuinely groundshaking show that it was.

Oh, whew, for a second, thought the YouTube link was to the K-word, which particularly gets wielded in the "Campy Shatner" campaign.

Although Wrath of Khan is probably the single most crack-addictive way of getting newbies hooked on TOS in the good way.
I've been thinking of trying it on one of those YouTube First Reactors who've never seen Harry Potter, LOTR or Star Wars:OT, either. It's interesting that we have so many such cultural guinea-pigs, this generation.

I was going to write that I’d pretty much lost interest in this ages ago, but THEN I HEARD Q’s VOICE!!! Bring it on!!! :o

(Also hope they have more Riker family stuff. That was really the only worthwhile storyline in the series, condensed to mostly one episode of course. His tween daughter was kick-a**! :) )
