This is the closest thing I can find to a theatrical version of the Timon and Pumbaa short "Stand By Me," as it includes the opening and closing titles, which Disney never put on home video in the states for whatever reason (even more baffling is that it's never been included in one of TLK's endless disc releases. Heck, it would've been right at home on TLK 1.5!).

Brilliant short and quite funny too! Always loved it. Whenever I hear the real song play I always sing it with the parody lyrics instead. Pumbaa, Pumbaa! ;)

Yep, such a shame it has never been made available to disc. Well, technically it has, but only for Region 2! Maybe if they ever release the entire series on DVD...

Ben, in his review of The Lion King 1 1/2, wrote:
Of all the Lion King releases, I would have expected one of them to carry Steve Moore’s hilarious 1995 Timon and Pumbaa short Stand By Me, which has the duo singing Ben E. King’s classic song, or maybe the similar The Lion Sleeps Tonight clip from their television show – they really should have made this.
Totally agree! ;)

Never knew this made it to Region 2, though. The copy I have comes from a VHS compilation.

It's on a DVD called Around the World with Timon & Pumbaa. It was the first of three volumes.

By the way, here's the link to your actual review - not your member profile! ;)

Yeah, when you quote, the link shows the member profile, not the linked post.

That is the VHS I had. Huh, never knew that came to disc. Stand By Me plays randomly about halfway through, and us easily the best thing in the compilation. The whole thing is in there, just without the credit text, though it’s only 4:3.

Incredibles might possibly be the most recut Pixar trailer ever. But here's a pretty decent one:

So awesome how AI: Artificial Intelligence predicted both Siri and Google! :)

(Ok, I know technically Google was around in 2001, but IIRC it wasn’t as developed.)
