Good article. I agree that Disney was remarkably cagey in making this deal. They've done wonderfully by it, and will do so for a long time to come.

Kinda funny how so many people drew Wolverine-Mickey crossovers and Disney can't make one X-Men movie LOL. 
You can’t just have your characters announce how they feel! That makes me feel angry!

Actually, Disney has the right to use him in animation. Just not in feature films (unless I'm mistaken).

Yep--Also, for all the fanboys nagging "When are we going to get Mark Ruffalo in the Planet Hulk movie?", we're not.
Disney owns the animated/marketing rights, and Marvel Studios owns the right to use the Hulk in the Avengers, but Universal still holds the rights on any more solo films.

Although Uni's hold on that will fizzle out soon. Marvel actually have solo rights, as per the Incredible movie, but Universal has distribution, so they would make the lion's share and home video, hence Marvel's willingness to hold off until they get those rights back.
Also, a technicality means Uni can't really go off and make their own film without Marvel's input/permission, so you can guess that they won't give that so that a solo film doesn't get produced until they get all their ancillaries back.
This all stems, apparently, not just from the first Hulk movie but from way back when Universal made the Bixby TV series, which Universal controls (unlike, it seems, the 1970s/80s Spider-Man show that Columbia did and which remains unreleased because Marvel, it turns out, has more say over that than on the Spidey movies or their other licenses, a shame since that show was goofy fun, whaa-whaa guitars, funky bass, ropes and bad mattes included!).
