Not going to lie. Not feeling this one at all. Not sure if it's the trailers but looks like a movie i may not go see in theatres.

Giving me atlantis vibes and that movie was "average" (not counting the fact it rips off a classic anime)

Trailers haven't made me want to see this so far.

I agree. I'll watch it eventually on Disney+, but I'm in no rush to see it in theaters. It'll probably be available on Disney+ on Christmas just like Encanto was.

I admit I’ll catch this at home too, either on D+ or disc, whichever comes first. But then again we haven’t been out to a big cinema to see something I wasn’t involved in since…er…uh…I can’t actually remember when!

Confession:

I haven’t been in a movie theater since Toy Story 4. (Yes, really.).
You can’t just have your characters announce how they feel! That makes me feel angry!

No, that would be Frozen II. Shows how memorable that was!

Oh my God you’re right Daniel! :)

Can’t believe I forgot. But like you said, it wasn’t a very memorable experience.

I did get around to seeing both Encanto and Raya in theaters even with the pandemic. Enjoyed them both, so I was glad I did. I do plan to see Strange World, too, even though it's still a question mark to me in a lot of ways.

I haven’t seen so little hype for a new Disney animated film like this since mid 2000's

Yeah, I'm struggling to muster any kind of enthusiasm. On paper it sounds ok, but the general look is so unappealing. I don't think it's going to do very good in theaters.

It’s going to do just fine, I think. There’s nothing else competing for the family market at that time, and they are advertising it pretty heavily on ESPN.

I think most Disney fans will be at home still watching Disenchanted… ;)

Or waiting for this to hit D+ in February. It’s not that long to wait. It may be being trailed in certain places, but Strange World just isn’t achieving that cut-through that will make it a sizeable hit, I don’t think. :(

Perhaps they are taking a low key approach because of the son's 'situation' if you get my drift. Take the angry mob by surprise and then let them give the movie free advertising as they express their moral outrage at the sexualisation of children's film and how they wouldn't have seen the film if they had known before hand.
