On SR: It's pretty much a shoo-in for a nom in the "Best Visual Effects" category. Mind you, "Dead Man's Chest" will win (I don't see how it couldn't), but SR will get nominated.
Best Song: There was cool song in "Casino Royale". Maybe it'll get a nod.

Monster House will probably get a nom, but I doubt very highly that it will win.

Actually, I think it has a good chance. The fact that it was done in Motion Capture might go against it, though.

I only want
Monster House to win because A) it was a great movie, with outstanding visuals and B) its the only movie I've seen out of those mentioned

You should be ashamed of yourself.

Yeah, Acadamy Awards tend to mimick the Annies a lot. Flushed Away got a bunch of noms, too, although it didn't get one for Best Picture for some reason.

And THAT makes no sense at all.
I mean, did they figure that they gave Aardman so many awards last year that they didn't need to give it a Best Animated Feature nom? Crazy.
I'm glad Ian got a voice acting nom, though. He was great as Toad.

I thought about that, actually.
I'm not trying to be a conspiracy theorist here...
.but I think it has to do with the Aardman-DW split and resentment at DW interference with this film, since there's been all this talk about how DW and Aardman are mad at each other, etc....

He certainly was.

You can’t just have your characters announce how they feel! That makes me feel angry!
