Yay. Two sequels to a film I already hate. (That's right. I said it. I hate Home Alone... Okay, "hate" is a strong word. Just not my thing.)

Wow. I'm guessing the same goes for Lost in New York? Or never bothered? Although it is more of the same, I find to be a more enjoyable film.

Never bothered with Lost in New York. My wife is a big fan, though, so she will get me to watch it at some point.

Rand would love Lost In New York. It takes everything from the first film and just replays it in am amplified way to the point where you wonder "why am I just not watching the first one again", and "these parents really should be getting prosecuted for having so many children they don’t know how to look after them".

John Hughes reportedly had some MAJOR personal-rejection issues, and often refused to work again with actors who turned down scripts or criticized his movies (as Molly Ringwald did at one point).
Just before, Hughes had put his heart and soul into the semi-autobiographical "She's Having a Baby", and when that failed at the box office, his enthusiasm went out of directing.

The two Home Alone movies, and the cute-kid knockoffs like Curly Sue and Dennis the Menace we got after that (which ultimately weren't even directed by Hughes), show just how far.
