I can take or leave Home Alone 2: Lost in New York the film.

As Ben says, it's pretty much a rehash of the first movie, storywise .. though (IMO) the cartoonish violence directed at the 'bandits' is dialed a bit too high; there's at least a couple of scenes which -- by rights -- would result in death!

But (also IMO) John Williams' score for Home Alone 2: Lost in New York is superior to his score for the first one .. lusher overall, and with many wonderful variations to his "Somewhere in My Memory" theme. It definitely ranks among my favorite of Mr. Williams' film scores. :)

(checks IMDB)
...Huh. Thought those were his Howard Deutsch films. :?
(Just like Chris Columbus won the "Direct a John Hughes comedy" look-alike contest with "Adventures in Babysitting", and won the chance to direct the Home Alone movies.)

Hughes did go back to screenwriting the "Beethoven" St. Bernard comedies in the 90's under the screen name "Edmond Dantes".
Heheh, cute, John, see what ya did there, hehehhh...

Both Alones did not DESERVE scores as good as John Williams gave them, and, from the sounds of them, he seems to have taken them as a fun composer exercise in Whimsical Atmospheric Christmas music.
As to whether HA2's "Merry Christmas" is a better atmospheric Williams Christmas song than the first Alone theme or "Somewhere", I leave that question unresolved.

HA2's "Merry Christmas" is a wonderful composition, IMO .. though, I'll admit my own preference is for the 'orchestral' version, rather than the chorale (which is the same opinion I have of Mr. Williams' songs composed for Hook, Harry Potter, etc).

The Holiday collection I brought up earlier has been removed and replaced with a Happy Holidays Collection! Nothing new added, but has more content this time around. Like the Halloween Collection before, "The Simpsons" have a dedicated section. Neat!

Home Alone folder, but without the official Disney knockoffs, "Blank Check" and "Man of the House"?

(Oh, of all the "Sado-masochistic adult-bashing kid comedies" we had to suffer through the 90's, was anything worse than the Disney ones? Well, besides "Big Fat Liar", I mean.)

I wouldn’t put Man Of The House in that group. There are others though, but I’ve blanked them from my brain.

The first two shorts of "The Wonderful World of Mickey Mouse" were added today. Likely to coincide with Mickey's birthday. Despite the changes, I'm happy it's continuing. Such a wonderful show!

I was referring more to going streaming exclusive. Doesn't impact me right now but it still kind of stinks it won't air on TV.

The 1983 movie, not the pretender? Thought that was Warner!

That’s obviously the actual title, so pretty sure it’ll be a doc on the real events behind the new series.
