Tenet. Helps that Demon had a preexisting fan base among other things.

R rating may hurt it here. It's pg-13 in most countries!

That's a good point. Of course after everything I'm not underestimating it. ;)

Demon slayer wins best animated film at the japan oscars! As north america oscars hates anime it didn't even get a best animated picture nod here! LOl.

Yeah, I remember when Crackle actually had anime shows (including the rare Animax dub of Nodame Cantabile, and complicated Sony exclusivity issues to the Valkyria Chronicles anime), thought they could buy a US arm of Animax, and put it under the Crackle umbrella...

Although Funimation and Crunchyroll already have the monopoly, with every other streaming service having lost interest in their trend experiment.

Demon slayer movie has now hit $428m ww! It's not out in america for a few weeks but sony is doing a awful job promoting it here. It's the first anime to reach ww gross of $400m!

Commercials will start up soon... hopefully. Toonami will probably air a marathon and hype it up. With all the money the film has earned, they would be crazy not to do something!

Demon slayer tickets pre sales start friday. Need to pick up tickets! Also happy to say our smaller amc here is showing it and it never shows anime films as much! (the big ones in the next town has tons of showings for it! Kind of surprised by that!)

With sony not really putting ads on tv for it much not sure how good it will do here like in au.

My theater is showing it once a day for dub and sub. If that's all there is no wonder they haven't bothered with promotion. And supposedly $14!? (8 PM showing) Yeesh. I'm so used to matinee prices. If swag came with I could understand... As of now I don't see myself going, but that could change.

Demon slayer is getting the "anime film" treatment again in america. Extra fathom event high price, theatres shoving it off it odd 4pm showings and sony not putting any ads for it out.

That's how anime is treating by hollywood here. It does not matter how much the film makes this is how anime films are treated here. They have it worse then pre 90s comic book movies did!

Don't have much hope for demon slayers box office in america now,

Edit--i may have spoke to soon! People are reporting showing are selling out! Better get your ticket if you want one! That's good news for demon slayer. But can it hit first place at the box office?

That's all it was EVER going to get. And now that that dream is over, could we please stop going Alita: Battle Angel on it?
