Scooby-Doo! Theatrical animated movie just announced

Well, here's the answer: https://animatedviews.com/2020/some-202 ... -eligible/
Re: Scooby-Doo! Theatrical animated movie just announced
That seems sensible, though it will still be a skinnier field this year.
Re: Scooby-Doo! Theatrical animated movie just announced
I'm somewhat disheartened Scoob is going straight to streaming. Yeah, the voices stink, and the characters are all over the place, it just would've been nice to have a cartoony Scooby movie on the big screen. Now with this decision, all that hoopla to get bigger names was for nothing.
Re: Scooby-Doo! Theatrical animated movie just announced
The problem with sending Scoob straight to home is there have already been a ton of straight-to-video Scooby-Doo movies already! It feels less “special” now.

It’s like Winnie The Pooh all over again!!

Re: Scooby-Doo! Theatrical animated movie just announced
Funny how this show is barely ever mentioned....not that I was ever much of a fan, but I can’t help but think of it because of all these different animated versions nowadays. (Yes, the theme song is excruciating, but insanely catchy as well.

I think Scoob and Shaggy both look adorable!

You can’t just have your characters announce how they feel! That makes me feel angry!

Judging by the trailers, there will be a lot I will enjoy, and some things I will frown at. But I will buy the Blu-ray and try it out there.
Re: Scooby-Doo! Theatrical animated movie just announced
Even though Matthew Lillard wasn't playing Shaggy this time around, he did give a promotional good-luck Tweet ("Just what we need in this time of crisis.")
Despite my contempt for Warner's hypocritical and overcompensating display of new franchise-marketable fan affection for 70's H-B, it was so nice, I couldn't help responding with a "And thank you, Matt, for being the only one with enough old-school integrity to take the '02 movie seriously".
And got a Like from Daphne (Grey DeLisle). Aww.

Loved what Grey posted, though!

I’ve always loved the terrible willing/villain couplet in that song!
Once again though, even at the limited TV level, the appeal of hand-drawn over digital shows the expressiveness of traditional over the too squishy CG.

Lol on the original lyrics, try this one from A Pup Named Scooby Doo on for size:
“There’s a mystery in town!/So call the coolest pup around!”
Lol.

AGREE....says so much how even a cheaply made hand-drawn 70s Saturday Morning cartoon is still more fun to watch than an admittedly nice-looking CGI animated movie from 2020.Once again though, even at the limited TV level, the appeal of hand-drawn over digital shows the expressiveness of traditional over the too squishy CG.
