And after all that, my standard 4K Luca arrived today…without the slip. :(

Before I trek off to eBay to find one, anyone have a spare they don’t want? I know that some people don’t bother to keep their slips, but this’ll be my first Pixar without one, so it’s a bit annoying, in a first world problem way…! ;)

I sympathize. That would drive me crazy, especially for a brand new release.

All our slips here in Canada are bilingual now, which is why I shop elsewhere.

My Steelbook arrived today. I guess the backing card is bilingual, but one doesn't see that on the shelf, and the spine is okay. At least the case is free of text, save the title. I do prefer Zavvi's sturdy "stand up" Steelbook holders to the Best Buy backing card (whose top tab gets in the way and is prone to damage), but bizarrely Zavvi only did their Luca Stelbook with just Bu-ray and no 4K. Best Buy's has the 4K/BD combo.

Zavvi will come along with their "exclusive" 4K combo in due course…they’ve been putting out all the Disney and Disney/Pixar films lately in new steelbooks. Might even be the reason they didn’t include the 4K first time around…

I assume DMC will send Luca along eventually and you're welcome to the slipcover if it has one. (usually does)

Hey, thanks! I didn’t realise you’re part of the Club, but of course you are! ;)

I had a feeling I remembered you were not a slip fan, but it would be very appreciated here! From what I see, people are starting to get their DMC copies, with a few reports that they are not glued very well (easily fixed) but that Luca does come with a DMC slip!

Thanks James — I will hold off on my eBay hunt for now, then! :D

Yep, that was the Blu-ray, though, whereas I was looking for the 4K. Actually, it doesn’t look very different to the regular artwork…? Is it the 4K you’re expecting, James? :)

New short on the way:
The Walt Disney Company wrote:An animated short film Ciao Alberto from Pixar, featuring characters from this summer’s animated hit breakout film Luca.
Che bella notizia! :D

Synopsis and image:
With his best friend Luca away at school, Alberto is enjoying his new life in Portorosso working alongside Massimo — the imposing, tattooed, one-armed fisherman of few words - who's quite possibly the coolest human in the entire world as far as Alberto is concerned. He wants more than anything to impress his mentor, but it's easier said than done.

The short will run 7 minutes. Not long enough! ;)

Ciao Alberto was great, but as expected too short. Would love a full-fledged sequel. There's so much untapped story potential.
