Looks like Tex Avery volume 3 finally has a release date: October 5th..! :D

Jerry Beck posted extensive notes on its content earlier today, on Cartoon Research.

He also speculates that a Tex Avery volume 4 is a possibility. As there's only about a half-dozen 'Tex' M-G-M cartoons left to put on that volume, it's possible it'll include some of Avery's Warner Bros cartoons (one such cartoon -- The Crackpot Quail -- is on volume 3).

Ooh, nice!

Finally Blitz Wolf, Swing Shift Cinders and a bunch of similar Droopy, Slap Happy Lion (yes yes yes, should look superb), King Size Canary, Billy Boy…some of our absolute favourites are on this, back from when a pal and I used to literally be on the floor watching these cartoons on the initial VHS compilations! Nostalgia and classic comedy in one collection — day one! :D

Just give me Believe It or Else, A Feud There Was, Detouring America and Cinderella Meets a Fella, and I'm happy.

Or even "Cinderella Meets Fella"!

Very happy with the list. Tons of great shorts -- "Billy Boy"! Screenshots look amazing. Very exiting about "The Crackpot Quail". Always a treat when something like that happens.

So, the Warner cartoon is just a "bonus". (Much like the Tex MGM cartoons were Bonuses on the Looney Tunes sets.)

But, a nice addition to mental trivia to know that Imogene Lynn was the voice of Red--
She's not Jessica Rabbit, she's just homaged that way.

Singing voice. Sara Berner provided her speaking voice.

Transfer issue on "Northwest Hounded Police":

The progress of the wolf is removed for a few seconds. Small, but it's a key point of the story. Shame it wasn't caught.

Also quite a bit of framing missing. Although the trade off is great digital prints. Still, this stuff should caught — it’s hard enough to see on the original, let alone the scrubbed version. Even after the erases bit, it’s still pretty reduced which, as you say, kind of robs us of the gag itself. Oops!
