"For the Birds" Merchandising?

Post by Matt DeTurck »

This is extroadinarily random guys, but I just watched "For the Birds" again yesterday. I love that short! And I got to thinking about how much I'd love to have a figure or little stuffed animal of one of the birds sitting on my desk. So I was wondering: has any merchandise ever been produced for "For the Birds"? Anything at ALL? or, for curiosity's sake, does anyone know of anything having been produced for ANY Pixar short?

They do have plushies (I guess that's what you call them) of those birds but I don't know if they have ever been sold to the public. One of them was used to substitute for the omnidroid in the sock puppet version of The Incredibles.

Was just about to say that!

One of the Easter Eggs on the Incredbiles DVD shows the plush toy version of those birds.

I doubt that they were made in such limited numbers for just the Pixar crew, so there must be some out there. Checked eBay?

John Lassetter probably has them all. He's a toy freak. :?

Yeah I tried eBay but it yielded no results, :( so I didn't want to keep checking if nothing even existed! So THANKS to everyone who posted; my search isn't in vain!

And SWEET! I now eagerly look forward to the Incredibles DVD .... not that I wasn't before. :P

For anyone who wants to see what one of these Bird-toys looks like, the only photo I could find anywhere appears on this page:

I didn't get the impression that she had a problem with it.

BTW, here's a shot of the bird:

That's not my handwriting on the screen. That's actually in the puppet show.

No, no problem. :) I like toys myself and wouldn't mind having one of the birds.
