Disney are not doing the animation for Enchanted. It's being outsourced to James Baxter Animation, who is using ex-Disney talent.

The witch is an intended spoof since the whole point of the fairytale world seen at the beginning of Enchanted is to draw upon the stereotypical, tried-and-tested elements.

Think of the opening of Enchanted as Scary Movie was to Scream...everything will be "new" but overly familiar.

Don Bluth is not involved with Enchanted whatsoever.

Why would Don Bluth be involved in this?

James Baxter Animation? Isn't that the same company that did The Proud Family episodes? :?

The style of Enchanted looks, to me, sort of like a cross between Disney and Don Bluth animation. It's very smooth and polished, but it also has a sort of..."brisk and bubbly" feel to it that I can't quite explain.

I don't think so :?

I'm fairly certain it was Jumbalya or something like that. Though, I could be wrong ;)

Daniel Jake - You know what, I think you're right -- I think it was Jumbalya/Jumbalaya.

James Baxter Animation still rings a bell, though. What else did they do, if I may ask?

Nope, not that I know of.

Look up James Baxter at IMDB. He was lead on Belle, moved to DreamWorks and did Spirit, opened up his own shop to continue traditional animation and landed the Enchanted gig.

Essentially, he's "Disney born and bred", which is why it has the Disney look, if not the feel. Then again, the director may be asking for more of a rougher edge as it seems animation has to be spoofy and full of quick keyframes nowadays. :(

Danny - Haha -- consider it a compliment. ;)

Ben - Yes, that was it: he did "Spirit"! Thanks for the information, Ben.

I think he also put in some work on Moses in Prince of Egypt (the burning bush scene) and Human Shrek, plus Puss 'n Boots in Shrek 2. (If I'm not mistaken). Plus he did Tulio in Road to El Dorado.
You can’t just have your characters announce how they feel! That makes me feel angry!

I was thinking Hayoe Mizakie (Sorry, NO idea how to spell his name)/Don Bluth myself.
