The Fox and the Hound

Post by Kinoo »

On a japanese Disney-McDonalds calendar, from wheree the Brother Bear 2 images recently put online were extracted, we can also have a glimpse of the FOX & the HOUND 2 and the LITTLE MERMAID Dvd Cover...

BUT

... alas the online version is very small : (The F&H2 image is between the 2nd and the 3rd part of the calendar on the right column while the TLM Dvd cover is at the bottom alogn with the Pooh and Lady&theTramp covers)

Anyone have any idea what that bottom right thing is? I really wish they'd make a micky/donald/goofy movie for the theaters. And one that doesn't have terrible terrible songs like the three musketeers.

Also, I wish there was a bigger version of this image :(

I thought Fox And The Hound 2 was put on hold?

And if not, well at least this image shows we can expect to "enjoy" another mid-quel entry, since the characters are still young.

I don't know, I guess I'd have been happier for the kids of the original characters to have an adventure and become "best of friends", perhaps... :(

The Fox and the Hound 2?

Post by numairhawk »

Does anyone have an idea of what it is going to be about?

Is it going to be one about their children or one about what happened while they were children? Because that is the basic format of disney sequals.

It's one of my favorites, but I didn't think that The Fox and the Hound was very popular.

It's about Copper and Tod before they are full grown.

in this sequel they have a child together... It's a half dog half fox and everyone teases him untill one day he saves the world from aliens... yeah, gotcha basic story setting for the average Disney flick of 2006 right there!

seriously.. It's not like the original was a movie we were all desperate for, beggin for more, or something... (eventhough it's right behind Little Mermaid as my favourite disney flick of that decade)

One thing though, the original is from 1981 and will be celebrating its 25th anniversary in 2006, perhaps a special edition is coming?

It was discontinued in the UK in May, so there could be a chance for a new DVD very soon.

Instead of these sequels there should be CROSSOVER movies!

Like the Fox and the Hound go on a wacky adventure that somehow leads them into the Bambi woods.

EXCITEMENT!

You can’t just have your characters announce how they feel! That makes me feel angry!

I've got a bad feeling about this.

It's another mid-quel, taking place while the two are still growing up.

Why?

Why?

Why?

At least with 101 Dalmatians II and Jungle Book 2 they tried to keep up the look of the Xerox process animation. Fox And The Hound wadone at a time when they went back to cels, but the new stuff doesn't fit at all...

The other thing is that I didn't realise this was so far ahead. I guess an SE (perhaps even in its original 1.66:1 ratio!) could be on the way.

Maybe Disney and DreamWorks will team up and have a Fox and the Hound/Shrek crossover.

Now that you think about it, here's some Disney crossovers...

The Rescuers in Wonderland
Dumbotasia
Hercules meets Pocahontas
Oliver and Company's Adventures in Never Land
Snow White and the Motor-driving Toad
Cinderella in Sleepy Hollow
Prince Phillip vs Pete's Dragon

I must confess that I am against Disney ever getting into crossever movies, unless they were done in "House of Mouse" style. My opinion.
