The Jetsons: The Complete Original Series Blu-ray

Post by Marshfish »

Hello all,

Yesterday, I published a web review/article on Warner Archive Collection's new Blu-ray set of The Jetsons: The Complete Original Series (the 1962-1963 episodes). I'm really impressed by the quality in the restoration of the episodes. Also included is a few original bumpers from the ABC prime time broadcasts, with ads for Saran Wrap, Scotch Tape, and Colgate Dental Cream. The Jetsons show itself is as entertaining as ever.

Any Jetsons fans on the site?

Here's the link to my review:

Thanks,
Marshall

Nice to see you again, Marshall! :)

Great review, very informative. We've been discussing the title some in our Archive thread. Do you own the DVD set? Would've been cool to see some comparison shots.

Hi Daniel,

Nice to see you again, too, my fellow Alvin Show fan. I do own The Jetsons DVD set released in 2004. Thanks for the kind words about the review.

I thought of adding some comparison shots, but didn't do so. I'm very impressed by the new Blu-ray set. Honestly, I hadn't watched the 2004 Jetsons DVD's in a long time. But, this new Warner Archive Blu-ray set has reminded me how much I enjoy The Jetsons 1962-1963 episodes.

Somehow I never got around to getting the original DVD set, so the Blu upgrade is definitely on my wishlist! Now to see if Warner Archive releases the 80s run. Would be cool.

I have the full series on DVD, but am only about half-way through Season One, which I've owned for years! I do really like the show, though. And I'll be getting the Blu-ray, which will likely encourage me to actually finish viewing the first season.

Sorry, but I don't expect to. Not sure when I'll pick the Blu-ray up.

Bummer. Too bad Rodney's not around, he probably would've been all over it!

Rodney! There's a name from the past. Yeah, I'm sure he would have enjoyed doing that one. One issue we have now is that Warner is no longer sending out screeners for us, so the incentive to get reviews written has lessened, to be honest. It's a lot of work for no reward, and our lives are all busy, so we must prioritize our time. If anyone knows of someone willing to do reviews of new discs from his/her own collection, that person is welcome to contact us. :)
