I don't do cable, I've got 'em on Blu-ray, and NYE means the almost-annual viewing of "Rudolph's Shiny New Year" (also on DVD).
And, since I grew up in Boston, the traditional viewing of Three Stooges until the midnight hour nears...
(Followed, also traditionally, by the Marx Bros. on NYD.)
Not really, since they only had to wear the masks until midnight. The thing of it is, it was more of an added tradition. Up until about two years ago, SyFy would always air Midnight Sun at midnight. It always felt special that after seeing the ball drop, I could switch over and that would be the episode that would welcome the new year.
Yeah, that does sound like a cool tradition (airing Midnight at midnight) if a bit creepy...but certainly, uh, “different.” .
Also, not to get too grisly, but in “Shadow Play” (where Adam Grant relives his “impression” of death row over and over again) his execution via the electric chair is also always at midnight. (“Why do these things always happen at midnight?” one character actually asks lol.)
You can’t just have your characters announce how they feel! That makes me feel angry!
That’s what I thought. I haven’t generally heard the best things about this new version. If I see it about I’ll give a couple a watch and see, but if I miss it then no great shakes. I need to cut back on my serial shows anyway, especially with D+ coming in a couple of months.
Guess it's a small consolation the UK's getting the reboot at all, since evidently the original isn't available to watch or stream anywhere!? I couldn't live without a dose once in awhile, especially the marathons!
