It's not a sequel. That's why Disney called it "Bambi II".
What ? the number doesnt says if its a prequel or sequel or midquel. You can see if it is a sequel midquel or prequel looking at the images. it is not a prequel cause it is not after bambi was born, it is not a sequel cause it doesnt take place after faline and bambi had their 2 sons. It is a midquel cause it takes place after bambis mother death and the time he is grown up...
I got "twitterpated" by Faline...

Well by simply looking at the title you would think it was a sequel but the number doesn't tell you that. Bambi II is a midquel which is a dumb title for a midquel unless they don't plan on making a sequel after Bambi's children are born. I'm pretty sure they'll do that as well.

Has anyone seen the R1 cover yet? What do you think of it?

I think it's pretty good but not as good as the French cover.

Uh, guys, I was being sarcastic with my last post.

Yeah, but you've just confused things now WJ!

For the record, II and 2 are one and the same thing. It's just a "prestige" thing the studios use to make their sequels seem less like cash-cow franchises and more like proper continuations.

Even where Disney sells this as Bambi 2, the on screen graphic will still say II. I think they're dumbing down with the 2, personally, but I guess more kids will respond to a number like that and drag their parents to see it.

Okay, "Bambi II" sounds better than "Bambi 2".

But "Bambi and the Great Prince of the Forrest" is what the title SHOULD be.

'Bambi in da Hood' is better - or 'Bambi and his gangsta kroo!'... I did like the original longer title, but Bambi II looks more apt for this mellow genre of Disney fare. I understand the '2' in Toy Story for example, but Bambi (as a feature) demands that finesse!

Yeah, it wouldn't make sense to have "Toy Story and the Great Prince of the Forest."

That would be one messed up movie right there.

It doesn't matter if you use Roman Numerals or numbers it means the same thing!!! ;)

Yeah, I'll still get it even if it's crappy or not. I just bought Madagascar and I thought that would be a big shame because it was a blind buy but I kind of enjoyed it. So maybe I will enjoy this movie too I mean it's interesting to see how he was raised with out his mother.
