No need to get Disney+ to see what all the fuss is about over Hamilton. Plus it's all over in under 5 minutes.

And yes the song is 2 years old, but the video is only a little over a month old.

Last five minutes of the original Jumangi (1995).

One of my favorite 90s films. (Good James Horner score too.).

Just wondering, are the remakes (sequels?) any good? How do they stack up compared to the original? Are they in the same story universe?

The first "remake" is actually a sequel. And it's okay. If you like the trailer, it's a fair representation, so you will likely like the film. I haven't seen the last one yet.

I barely recall the original, myself. I just rememebr bad (early) CGI.

The new movies are very enjoyable. Took me by surprise. The first one is better than the second one. I really appreciate how they linked the recent movies to the original one so it doesn't feel like a reboot for reboot sake. Definitely worth checking out.

Another awesome six-minute making-of feature from the late 80s, this time on The Great Mouse Detective. Once again, everyone is super young! :o

This is amazing on so many levels. Carol Burnett as Supergirl, from 1962! Also, watch for Popeye and Tarzan references!

Admit it...this scene still haunts your nightmares!

Let me just say, I realize that ILM used computers to aid with integrating the live-action and animated characters/backgrounds, but no way in heck could flattened Doom rising up after being run over by the steamroller be as scary if it was done with today’s CGI effects. (IMHO). There’s nothing like stop motion. There just isn’t.

(Believe it or not, I thought Stan Winston’s stop motion Terminator SFX from 1984 were in some ways scarier and hold up better than the ILM ones from T2 in 1991. Don’t get me wrong, both were amazing. I realize that many fans don’t feel this way when comparing the two films. To me, the older SFX just feel more organic and visceral.)

EDIT: I realize that scene involved a lot of Winston’s mechanical/practical SFX as well.

Right, of course, feeling pretty silly. :) I forgot ILM didn’t ALWAYS mean just computers. Duh! (For a long time it involved mostly models and....stop-motion! *facepalm*)

Oh, and kinda dumb coincidence, but just realized that despite being from quite different films, both scenes above depict that “Oh no we thought the villain is dead, but he’s not!” moment. Lol.
